The King returned back to his castle in Cleveland on Wednesday night to a standing ovation.

Unlike when he returned to Cleveland for the first time in 2010 as a member of the Miami Heat which involved fans burning his jersey and booing him at any given chance, the Los Angeles Lakers star received a positive response as he was introduced as a starter inside Quicken Loans Arena.

After the introduction, LeBron did his signature chalk toss prior to opening tip-off with cameras focusing in on the Akron, Ohio, product as he hugged his former teammates and gave props.

Following the game's first timeout, the Cavs played an emotional tribute for  LeBron. It featured James holding the Larry O'Brien trophy after he brought the city their first major North American sports championship in history, and highlighted his I Promise School with the message:

"Thank you for what you did on the court. But we all know it's bigger than basketball. Thank you LeBron."

Naturally, LeBron showed the love back, waving to the Cavalier faithful.

During LeBron's second tenure in Cleveland, he led the team to four straight NBA Finals and of course won it all in the 2015-16 season.

And whatever happens in Los Angeles, it'll be tough to top the impact he had on his home state of Ohio.
