It was only a matter of time, but officially LeBron James has passed Kobe Bryant for third in all-time NBA scoring. Going into the game against the Philadelphia 76ers, it looked like King James had a pretty good idea that tonight would be the night.

LeBron wrote β€œMamba 4 Life” on his shoes, which was a subtle homage to the man who wore the Lakers yellow before him. In those very shoes, James cleaved through the Sixers defense to surpass the Lakers great.

Although he was in hostile territory, the Philly faithful gave LeBron a huge ovation after moving into third place on the all-time scoring list.

LeBron James now only trails Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone in points. As for Kobe Bryant, he had nothing but love for LeBron.
