Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby have become two of the most proven winners in hockey, so you’d assume they would be able to recognize a threat when they see one.
Malkin and Crosby were together again at the NHL Player Media Tour and when speaking to NHL.com Toronto seemed to be a hot topic. They have been for much of the offseason because of the addition of John Tavares, but with the season drawing near, players are starting to measure up their competition. Many star players were asked for their pick (Other than their own team) to win the Stanley Cup:
- Malkin picked Toronto as his team to win, saying “If you see young and hungry, I think it’s Toronto”.
- Sidney Crosby picked Washington and Toronto.
You know this is only going to get Toronto fans even more riled up as the season draws near, and you know the rest of the league is already getting annoyed with that. Maybe the Leafs will be able to embrace the hate like the Golden State Warriors did and become the Super Villains of the NHL.
