Before the Vegas Golden Knights became Vegas’ sports team that title was held by the Las Vegas 51s, a Triple-A baseball club in the Pacific Coast League. Since 2001, the team has been known as the 51s, but next year is going to be a different story as the franchise is rebranding its name and logo as it moves into a brand new ballpark.
As they prepare for their final home stand of the year and final one as the Las Vegas 51s, the team will show some love for the Golden Knights on Saturday night when they hit the field in special edition Golden Knights themed uniforms.
Fans will receive the Golden Knights baseball jerseys as a special giveaway to open up their final home stand at the park they’ve called home for decades and some members of the hockey team are already rocking theirs.
On top of the theme night and special edition uniforms, Golden Knights defenceman Jon Merrill will be in attendance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game.
Formerly known as the Las Vegas Stars, the franchise won two league titles and 10 division titles once it made the move from Spokane to Las Vegas in 1983 and will look to add to that in the near future after they rebrand.
