The Winnipeg Jets selected Patrik Laine 2nd overall in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft with high hopes that he would help contribute in turning the franchise around and he hasn’t let them down.
After putting together an impressive 36 goals and 64 points in 73 games during his rookie campaign, the 19-year-old doesn’t seem to be experiencing a sophomore slump as he’s already tallied 18 goals and 29 points in 37 games this season.
Recently, Laine teamed up with Bauer Hockey to surprise a local youth hockey team at one of their practices. The team thought they had been invited to participate in a shoot for a Bauer ad, but instead it turned into something a lot greater.
The Tampere, Finland native joined the team's practice and went up against them in a scrimmage. He also made sure they didn’t go home empty-handed, as he surprised them with all with brand new custom Bauer sticks.
