As per usual, Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry is having another terrific regular season. The 31-year-old is averaging more than 14 points and seven assists in the 2017-18 campaign and added to his impressive resume with another stellar performance against the New York Knicks on Friday night.
After recording 22 points and 10 assists in a 107-84 victory, Lowry passed Jose Calderon and moved into 2nd place on the Raptors all-time list for most career games with 20+ points and 10+ assists. The only player ahead of him is former rookie of the year Damon Stoudamire, who still leads the way with 30.
Not bad for a player who’s only been with the team for six seasons. His 155 games with 20 points is nothing to sneeze at either.
Lowry has played a key role in Toronto’s success throughout the years, and the 2017-18 campaign has been no exception. For the fourth straight season, Lowry has helped lead the Raps to a record well above .500 through the team’s first 15 games. This year has marked the second best in franchise history, only behind the 2014-15 when the team came out of the gates hot with a 13-2 record.
The Raptors’ success largely hinges on the play of their star and he definitely hasn’t disappointed this season. Toronto currently sits second in the East with Detroit (10-5) only behind the red-hot Boston Celtics.
