The Denver Broncos Week 12 matchup went just about as well as we all thought it would after finding out that the team would be without a proven NFL starting quarterback. After Jeff Driskel tested positive for COVID-19, the other three quarterbacks were considered high-risk close contacts, leaving the Broncos in an unprecedented situation.

While initially it seemed as though Royce Freeman would be making the start as the team’s official emergency quarterback, a background check on the roster discovered that Kendall Hinton – a practice squad wide receiver – played quarterback in college for Wake Forest.

He only managed to complete one pass for 13 yards, and also threw two interceptions, but just about everyone in Broncos Country respected the effort and the refusal to give up.

Following the game, Hinton spoke with the media about the whirlwind of going from a sales job trying to make ends meet, to lining up under centre in the NFL.

From 4:37 to 5:35, Hinton discusses what it was like to get tackled for the first time in two years, and where he was just one month ago.

While it wasn’t the heroic miracle he would’ve hoped for, it’s nice to see that he was in good spirits, and appreciative of everyone picking him back up throughout the game.

Even Saints defender Cam Jordan was impressed.
