The Oilers should not be trying to waste any more of the McDavid era, so as soon as they can return to competitiveness the better – that’s clearly how Ken Holland feels.
First things first, Holland has said that he will be replacing the coach, but he could keep Hitchcock on as an advisor.
As for everything else, we’ll just have to see what the team does in the offseason, because even though there is a lot of talent hitting free agency, the Oilers don’t have a top of cap room.
