Another NBA trade deadline has come and gone, and once again we’re left with some moves that were no brainers, and some that came entirely out of left field and took everyone by surprise.

There were rumours that the Golden State Warriors were going to try to include D’Angelo Russell in a trade, but they didn’t know where he would end up. On Thursday, the 23-year-old was dealt before the 3pm Eastern deadline and now is a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Welcome to Minnesota, @dloading πŸ‘€

Late Thursday night, Russell landed in Minnesota and he was greeted by Karl-Anthony Towns as soon as he got off the plane.

Towns came prepared with Russell’s new threads and the newest member of the T-Wolves was all smiles around his new team.

That might be the warmest welcoming we’ve ever seen after a trade.
