2020 has been a tough year for the sports world, as COVID-19 continues to put up limitations. While it’s easy to get frustrated with these limitations, it’s important to remember how important they are.

There may not be a more appropriate example of why these precautions are important in the sports world than Karl-Anthony Towns.

KAT is entering the 2020-21 season with the hopes of continuing his development into being one of the league’s most dominant players. He’ll be doing so with a heavy heart, as the Minnesota Timberwolves big man lost six family members to the pandemic, including his mother.

The unimaginable weight of these losses is clearly something that will stick with KAT, and after receiving the game ball for his performance in the T-Wolves season opening win over the Detroit Pistons, Towns gave an emotional interview with FOX Sports.

KAT finished the night with a double-double, putting up 22 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.

Whether you’re a T-Wolves fan or not, it’s hard not to cheer for someone that’s playing through so much emotional trauma.
