It was a magical weekend for NCAA softball.

Especially for James Madison University’s softball team.

As various teams battled in the NCAA Softball Super Regional to compete towards the Women’s College World Series set to take place in Oklahoma City, we were able to see the Dukes make history on Sunday.

Securing their first-ever WCWS berth in program history, the Dukes beat No. 8 Missouri 7-2 to win the Columbia Super Regional and advance to Thursday’s opening game of the WCWS against No.1 Oklahoma.

And we’re warning you now, this is a pretty awesome moment that may make you choke up a bit, we can attest it definitely had us a bit emotional.

The Dukes additionally became the first school since 2014, not from a power five conference to advance to the WCWS.

Though the magic doesn’t stop there.

The attendance this weekend was absolutely insane with the NCAA allowing full capacity based on each school’s state guidelines.

Aleimalee Lopez here actually puts it in the best words describable.

The WCWS is set to start this coming Thursday, June 3rd!
