With The Masters just a few days away, news is starting to leak out about phrases such as “Dilly Dilly” are on a list of words that could get spectactors removed from Augusta if they shout out inane phrase's during play.
According to Bunkered Online’s Bryce Ritchie, security staff at the Masters has a list of banned words that will allow them to remove hecklers that interfere with a golfer’s swing.
Anyone found using Dilly Dilly or one of their restricted words or phrases will be immediately be removed.
The sport of golf has seen an increase of obnoxious fans heckling golfers out on the course, including a few incidents with some pretty notable players.
At last month’s Honda Classic, Justin Thomas forced a fan to be ejected off the premises after the fan reportedly screamed “get in the bunker" at him. Sergio Garcia had a fan removed because he shouted something at him during his swing. Rory McIlroy has been the subject of criticism while on the course and feels the PGA needs to limit alcohol sales during tournaments. McIlroy’s wife has been the subject of a few heckling incidents, with spectators yelling her name, Erica, during play.
We'll keep you posted if we find out the rest of the "banned" phrases.
