The 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship is a few weeks away and the participating nations are starting to get into full preparation mode ahead of the tournament.
Although the teams haven’t named their final rosters just yet, Team Canada already has two masks picked out for their goalies and they’re pretty awesome.
Hockey Canada held two online Design-A-Mask contests that allowed fans to design the masks that will be worn by the Canadian goalies in this year’s tournament and they selected the two winners on Monday evening.
They held two different contests, one for fans aged 13-18 and another one for fans under the age of 13. The mask on the left was designed by 12-year-old Brody Panich of Edmonton, Alberta, while the mask on the right was designed by 18-year-old Brooks Freeman of Virden, Manitoba.
Team Canada will begin their quest for gold in Buffalo against Team Finland on Boxing Day.
