New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is generally loved by most football fans, but on Sunday afternoon during a game against the Buffalo Bills, he committed a play that likely docked him down a few spots in their books.

Bills rookie cornerback Tre’Davious White squared off with the tight end and was the only one of the two to come down with the football on a pass thrown by Tom Brady. Gronk, who rarely loses battles in one-on-one coverage, completely lost his cool and dove at the back of White’s head while he was defenceless on the ground.

What on earth was Gronk thinking? That looked more like a snorlax body-slam than anything else.

Gronkowski was somehow not ejected from the game, which may lead the league to hand him a suspension. We hate to break it to all of the fantasy football contenders with Gronk on their team, but you might be without your star player for the first week of the playoffs.

After the match, Gronkowski apologized to White in a post-game interview and was quick to criticize the officiating for not making a call on the coverage. Gronk “couldn’t understand why there was no flag” after stating that he felt there was a hold on the play.

White was later evaluated for a head injury as the result of one of the more pointless plays of the season. The Patriots won the game 23-3, which makes the play seem all-the-more ridiculous.
