Sports fans that are not a fan of soccer will tell you that soccer is full of pretending. While it’s true that embellishment has ingrained itself to a certain extent into the culture of the game, usually the theatrics end once a free kick is granted.
On Tuesday, a whole new kind of theatrics emerged from an Ethiopian soccer league. After throwing the ball directly into his net in a humiliatingly baffling moment, the keeper tried to simply play it off as though nothing had happened.
These goalies, eh? You can always count on them to put together a nice year-end blooper reel.
These guys have got to start putting it together. Or if not, they better start becoming WAY better actors.
