No one is really sure of whether or not Genie Bouchard and that random fan on Twitter are actually dating, but it looks like they've been given a chance to go on another date where it all began. Sort of.
You may recall that John Goehrke -- or as he's known on Twitter, @punslayintwoods -- was lucky enough to win a bet during last year's Super Bowl when he wagered with Genie that the Patriots would come back and win. Of course, the Patriots did, effectively turning the Falcons into a motivational meme, and granting John a date with Genie. Back in December the two were spotted together once again, causing people to ask whether or not the two were now a pair.
There's no definitive answer to that, but on Monday, NFL Canada floated the two an interesting offer, asking if they both panted to be a plus-two at Super Bowl LII. Genie accepted.
John formally accepted the offer, which comes as a surprise to precisely no one.
One year ago John was watching the Super Bowl at home, tweeting randomly at Genie Bouchard. Now he may be going to the Super Bowl with her on another date.
Funny how the world works.
