Part of the beauty of being a young sports fan is having an advantage over your older peers when it comes to receiving player memorabilia. Think about it: a goaltender has a stick to give away after being named the first star of the game. Do they give it to the 3-year-old kid who aspires to be like him/her when they’re older, or the 50-year-old dude who’s past his prime? Clearly the former. But unfortunately at the 2019 French Open, some kids are being robbed of their memorabilia. Why you ask?

Because fully grown men are stealing it from them. We’re not even kidding.

There have been multiple occasions at this year’s tournament (yes, sadly more than one) where a much older man has fully snagged a towel from a young fan. We wish that we were kidding but unfortunately it’s been the case.

Uh... are these dudes serious?! 😫 #FrenchOpen. . (H/T Michael Gallo/Twitter)

Yeah… the players didn’t look all that impressed and Madison Keys even responded on Twitter to the incident.

This reminded us of a similar situation that took place nearly a year ago during the Stanley Cup playoffs. Okay, well this dad at least didn’t take the puck for himself but he did deny this young fan numerous times before she finally received her own. It all worked out pretty well, though, because she earned an extra ticket from it.

Let this be a valuable lesson, people. If an athlete is handing out free memorabilia to kids, just stay out of it. You don’t want to get caught in one of these situations!!!!
