It’s St. Pats night in Toronto, and the Maple Leafs are bringing back these throwback beauties for a quick spin.

With these jerseys also comes the chance for the Leafs’ goalies to bust out some thematic custom masks, and they did not disappoint.

Frederik Andersen will start the game in net for the Leafs, and he’s rocking a terrific mask that pays homage to the history of the St. Pats. The “sketches” on the side of the helmet are a fantastic twist.

Meanwhile, Garret Sparks’ mask is a little more fun. Instead of the nods to St. Pats history, Sparks opts for a bold dragon-inspired design — with shamrocks for scales, and teeth that are actually shaped after the team’s current maple leaf logo. Subtle! But really good!

Also, the back of Sparks’ mask also honours the Humboldt crash victims, keeping in tradition with his regular mask from this season.

What do you think of these masks? Do you prefer Andersen’s throwback mask, or the subtle details of Sparks’ mask? Let us know!
