Fred VanVleet is perpetually underrated. It seems to be in his DNA, and he’s used to playing the underdog role. That’s what made him a G League Champion, an NBA Champion, and the first undrafted player to make north of $20 million annually.

So far in 2021, FVV has proved he’s worth the price tag. Earlier in the year, VanVleet set an NBA record for most points scored in a game by an undrafted player with 54. That mark was also the most ever scored by a Raptors in a single game.

While he continues to prove that he deserves more respect than he gets, the chip on his shoulder may have gotten a little larger when the NBA All-Star Reserves were announced and VanVleet’s name was left off.

It's possible that Harden’s mid-season move to the East had a part in Freddy’s omission, but Raps fans still aren’t happy. They quickly took to Twitter to voice opinions on the guard’s snubbing.

Freddy is playing against Ben Simmons tonight, so it will be interesting to see how the two compare. After all, one’s apparently more All-Star worthy than the other…
