Though he’s not a player on the ice, Calgary Flames assistant general manager Chris Snow has been one of the easiest guys to cheer for in the NHL over the past couple of seasons.

Snow was diagnosed with ALS in June 2019, and told he would only have one year to live. More than two years after that terrifying diagnosis, the Boston native continues to live life to the fullest and be an inspiration to many. The entire hockey world has been captivated by his young family’s story.

Snow recently celebrated his 40th birthday, and to mark the milestone, was invited by his hometown Boston Red Sox to throw the opening pitch at a game. Snow’s kids, who are 6 and 10 years old, joined him for the throw.

Chris and his wife Kelsi both shared posts about the milestone and the celebration, and we’re definitely a little teary-eyed reading through them.

What an incredible moment for the entire Snow family. Wishing them the best in their fight!
