Sunday was a rest day at Wimbledon, so No. 2-ranked Rafael Nadal figured he would hit the court for a light run before his match on Monday (which he’s since won to move on, by the way).
Nadal was also sure to snap a picture for his Twitter followers, and for attentive tennis fans, they may be in for a surprise when they see who Nadal is kicking it with.
Yeah! That’s Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic! Three of tennis’ all-time greats, just casually gracing the same courts with their presence. Between Nadal, Federer and Djokovic, there are a combined 49 Grand Slam titles in that picture, and you couldn’t find an active player with more than any of them.
It's like tennis' own dream team.
Like Nadal, Federer (ranked No. 1) and Djokovic (No. 12) won their matches on Monday to advance to the quarterfinals. It’s sure looking like these guys will be going head to head, sooner rather than later. Tennis fans can only hope.
Nadal also recently squared off against another sporting legend, in what was billed as “The Match of the Century.” That’s right -- he squared off with none other than Mario Tennis Aces’ own Super Mario.
