Losers of five straight, the Washington Capitals decided to change things up at practice on Monday and enlighten the mood.
First, the team held a private meeting and after practice, several of the Caps stayed around to work on some pucks skills and shooting drills.
One of those players was Evgeny Kuznetsov, who was demoted to the Caps' third line and stuck around to work on his one-timers.
Thirty minutes after the extra practice session, Kuznetsov and Dmitri Orlov decided to dogpile on Kuzy's new linemate, Dmitri Jaskin, and engaged in a little on-ice wrestling.
Jaskin was able to free himself, and then track Kuzy down and got his revenge, but not before Orlov fired a few stick taps at his rear-end.
For a team that's mired in a losing streak, it's encouraging for Caps fans to see the team in good spirits, and for Kuzy building up camaraderie with his new linemate, while inventing a new sport in the form of ice wrestling.
