Sports fans, especially those from Toronto, know that Drake’s influence is especially strong in the sports world.
That’s why it makes sense that Jordan Brand has had an agreement with musician since 2013. It has led to several collaborations on clothing and sneakers, plus a song titled ‘Jumpman’ on Drake’s collaborative album with Future. Now, it appears as if he is closing to signing with Adidas.
It remains to be seen what this will truly mean for sports fans. For Raptors fans, one of the most interesting things to monitor will be the team’s City Edition jerseys. Of course, while Drake has had a deal with Jumpman and Adidas had the NBA jersey deal before this year, there has been no issues with an OVO jersey with an Adidas logo.
It will be interesting to see if a different deal could affect that.
It would also be the second significant Toronto tastemaker to switch to Adidas recently, as Marcus Stroman switched from Jumpman to Adidas earlier this month.
