When you think of the captain of a hockey team, there are some pretty standard things that you think of.

Someone who is a solid example of a good individual on and off the ice, someone with excellent sportsmanship, and someone who is universally respected among their opponents and teammates.

When you think of a player like this, there’s obviously a couple NHLers that come to mind first.

Of course, Brad Marchand has to be the first to pop into your head.

Okay, okay, we’re just kidding about that. We don’t doubt that Marchand is a great guy off the ice, but he definitely has a certain reputation around the league as a bit of a nuisance. Patrice Bergeron was the clear pick to wear the 'C' for the Bruins upon Chara’s departure, but that didn’t stop Bruins GM Don Sweeney from having a little fun with the announcement.

One question: how do we get our hands on this one-of-a-kind jersey?!

We love Sweeny’s commitment to this prank, and we’re counting down the days until hockey is back.
