The Los Angeles Dodgers selected Will Smith in the first round of the 2016 MLB June Amateur Draft and the Louisville, Kentucky native finally got to make his MLB debut on Tuesday night when the Dodgers hosted the New York Mets.

Smith entered the 2019 campaign as the No. 6 ranked prospect in the franchise’s system and it didn’t take very long for him to become a fan favourite among the Dodgers faithful, thanks to his choice of walk-up song.

When your name is Will Smith it’s hard not to go with the most popular song ever written by the musician turned actor with the same name as you for your walk-up song, and we’re glad that the 24-year-old was thinking the same thing.

Safe to say Smith earned some new fans before he even stepped into the batter’s box for the first time of his career.
