There was a lot of hype about the Leafs going into this season and so far, they've either met the hype or exceeded it, depending on who you ask.

Toronto sits one point back of Tampa Bay for first place in the Atlantic Division and Eastern Conference.  They've also been without one of their best players for the last month and another for the entire season, yet they've still managed to get wins.

The players we eluded to above, Auston Matthews and William Nylander, are a big part of the success of the Leafs and on Thursday, head coach Mike Babcock had this to say about his players not in the lineup right now.

The only significant pieces that aren't there are Matthews and Nylander, and that fact that Babcock said "they" will be here must mean he thinks a deal is on the horizon.

With the December 1st deadline quickly approaching, everyone is anxious to see what the Leafs do with their RFA.  As for Matthews, he talked about when he could return to the lineup for the Leafs.
