Pavin Smith was selected 7th overall by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2017 MLB draft and ended up signing a deal with the organization just over a week after he was drafted.
As part of his deal with the Diamondbacks, the 21-year-old received a hefty signing bonus of $5,016,300 and he ended up putting a bunch of his signing bonus to good use.
This Christmas, Smith surprised his parents with quite possibly the greatest gift of all-time.
The Diamondbacks’ 2017 first-round pick used a chunk of the massive signing bonus he received this past summer to pay off his parents’ mortgage and they were at a loss for words when they finished reading his note.
It doesn’t get much better than that.
