Jim Carrey has played some very memorable characters over the course of his career with one of the most recognizable ones being Ace Ventura.
Just about everyone is familiar with the Ace Ventura franchise, but for those who aren’t here’s a quick summary.
Ace Ventura is a Miami-based detective who specializes in finding missing animals. He ends up getting hired by the Miami Dolphins to try to solve the case of their missing team mascot, Snowflake, who disappeared days before the Super Bowl. Not only did he end up finding Snowflake, but he also ended up rescuing Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino.
Fast forward 25 years later and Marino admits that he was going to turn down a role in the film until he got a very compelling pitch from Jim Carrey himself.
Marino was a special guest on Peyton’s Place and shared the story about how he ended up accepting the role in the movie.
Even he’s happy he did, because it helped him build his brand outside of football and he’s still seeing checks for his work to this day.
