There weren’t too many blockbuster trades at this year’s deadline, but D’Angelo Russell finally got his trade to the Minnesota Timberwolves after what feels like constant rumours connecting him to his good friend Karl-Anthony Towns.

Things haven’t gone great for the young Wolves this season — at the time of the trade, they had lost their last 13 games in a row — but Russell definitely seems to be excited about his new surroundings.

Addressing his new team’s fans at home on Saturday, Russell expressed immediate gratitude for the way that he’s been embraced so fans... and he couldn’t help but let out a swear over the PA system at the end of his speech.

To be fair, Russell’s previous home, the Golden State Warriors, are the lone team in the West with an even worse record than the Timberwolves, and he didn’t seem to be a long-term fit with the team after Steph Curry and Klay Thompson return from injury. You can see why he's excited about the move.

In Minneapolis, Russell forms a pretty strong young core with Towns, and even though he wasn’t able to make his Wolves debut due to a quad issue, the team was still able to get back in the win column with a surprisingly decisive win against a healthy Los Angeles Clippers team.

Given how these two get along off the court, we can’t wait to see what the D’Lo and Towns pairing looks like when we finally get to see them in action together.
