New year, new goalie pads.
That’s the approach Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig Anderson is taking in 2018.
The Sens No.1 netminder debuted his new Brian’s OPTIK pads at practice on Monday, and they’re pretty fantastic.
If you follow Brian’s on Instagram, you would’ve seen them featured a few weeks back prior to Christmas.
Anderson and the Sens face the Blackhawks on Tuesday night at the Canadian Tire Centre.
According to TSN Sens reporter Brent Wallace, Anderson will get the nod in net.
The question is, will Anderson debut the pads then? Most goaltenders will spend a week or two breaking in their new gear, depending on the feel of the pads and how quickly they get adjusted to them.
Earlier this season, Anderson showed off his NHL100 gear, and while they do look somewhat similar, these new ones are a step up, especially with the gold accents on the sides.
