Saquon Barkley has done some incredible things through 17 NFL games and many are expecting him to finish his career as the greatest running back in New York Giants history, so if you manage to chase down the 22-year-old in an NFL game you’re going to have some eyes on you.
Just ask Dallas Cowboys cornerback Chidobe Awuzie.
This past weekend, the Cowboys and the Giants went head-to-head in their season opener. On Barkley’s first carry of the night, the 2018 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year broke loose for a 59-yard gain but was taken down by Awuzie.
Awuzie was clocked going 22.81 mph as he chased down Barkley, the fastest a player has been recorded since 2017, and as a result he was hit with a surprise PED test by the NFL on Tuesday.
The 24-year-old’s teammates were shown the video of him chasing down Barkley at practice on Thursday and they were all extremely impressed by what they saw.
We’re guessing we’ll see him in the lineup for Week 2.
