Connor Hellebuyck is only 27 years old, but he’s already cemented his significance upon the Winnipeg Jets franchise. Not only did he win the Vezina Trophy last year while playing for a team that lost one of its staple defenders in Dustin Byfuglien, but he’s endeared himself to the entire fan base with his no-nonsense approach to the game.

On Thursday, Hellebuyck became the franchise all-time leader in wins when the Jets defeated the Calgary Flames. It was the 153rd win of his career, passing Ondrej Pavelec to take top spot. The franchise hasn’t had much luck in the crease before Hellebuyck, so this milestone doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Regardless, it’s still reason to celebrate.

Now the question becomes, how far does Hellebuyck widen the margin before the next guy up has a crack at it? He’s currently in the 3rd year of a 6-year contract, so he’s definitely got AT LEAST a few more years left to keep winning.
