Lacrosse goalie Dillon Ward was selected third overall by the Colorado Mammoth in the 2013 NLL Entry Draft and went on to have a very impressive rookie campaign.
In his first NLL season, Ward was a runner-up for the NLL Rookie of the Year and was named to the NLL All-Rookie Team, and the Mammoth rewarded him for his outstanding play with a five-year contract.
Last year, Ward finished third in the entire league in total saves with 632, he led the NLL with a .800 save percentage, and he finished with the second-best goals against average (10.33). This year, the 26-year-old will look to add to his already impressive resume and he’s going to be rocking a brand new mask while doing so.
Designed by artist David Arrigo, Ward’s mask is going to feature a massive tribute to The Tragically Hip's late frontman Gord Downie and it already looks incredible.
Arrigo and the Orangeville, Ontario native have only shown a sneak peak of the new mask so far, but we’ll be sure to keep an eye out for the finished product.
