Mike Trout has been dubbed the best player in baseball for many years now and he has a 12-year, $426,500 million contract to show for it.
On Monday night, Trout and his Los Angeles Angels hosted reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich and his Milwaukee Brewers and the two-time AL MVP showed one of the reasons why he received his massive contract by coming up with a big play at the wall.
Yelich has had one of the hottest bats in the league since joining the Brewers but that didn’t matter on Monday night as Trout got some air and robbed the 27-year-old of his sixth home run of the season. However, Yelich couldn’t help but show Trout some love for his outstanding catch as he tipped his cap to the Angels’ outfielder after the big play.
Awesome stuff.
