When it came to wide receivers in last night’s NFL Draft, it didn’t really go how many expected. With a historically deep WR class, most experts had their Top 3 sorted with CeeDee Lamb, Jerry Jeudy, and Henry Ruggs.
Most also had their top two sorted, with Lamb and Jeudy, so it came as a surprise to many to see Ruggs come off the board first by way of the Oakland Raiders 12th overall pick.
With teams like the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers also pegged as possible contenders for a wide receiver, it was pretty surprising to see Lamb fall all the way to 17 before the Dallas Cowboys finally took him.
In the end, you could say the draft could have gone better for Lamb in terms of where he was drafted, but it also could have gone better in another way. During the draft, Lamb’s feed captured him grabbing a phone back after his girlfriend had taken it off his lap, and it didn’t take long for the clip to go viral.
Apparently Lamb is very much not on-board with the way this clip is being framed…
Overall, Lamb is seen as a steal at #17, and he joins a receiving corps that already features the ‘Boys trade darling Amari Cooper and talented up-and-comer Michael Gallup.
He’ll be just fine.
