Carter Hart will wear a Ray Emery tribute mask on Monday night

Carter Hart has been out of the Philadelphia Flyers’ lineup since mid-January, but on Monday night the 21-year-old will return to the crease for the Flyers when they host the Florida Panthers.

The Sherwood Park, Alberta native is going to look a little different when he takes to the ice on Monday and it’s because he’ll be wearing a brand new mask.

Designed by Franny Drummond of PaintZoo Studio, Hart’s mask on Monday night will be a tribute to former Flyers goalie Ray Emery in more ways than one as each side features different shots of Emery, including one without his mask, while the back panel features Emery’s nickname; ‘Razor’, and an Oskar Strong logo for Oskar Lindblom.

What a honor to paint this mask for @c_hart70 we talked about this mask an really wanted to pay tribute to Ray. I have painted for razor when he was here in philly an my friend @dielairbrush had painted also. So we took design that would go well with his equip to really have a mask just like Razor with his portraits on sides. Rest In Peace Ray🙏🏻.
