The Washington Capitals really do have some odd pre-game rituals. But, hey, maybe that's why they're so successful.
Take Alex Ovechkin for example, who sometimes sinks his teeth into his teammates when the team is warming up with a soccer ball inside an arena. John Carlson likes to give his teammates cup checks before hitting the ice just to make sure the jock strap is doing its job.
When a new player joins the team, you can expect an initiation period of where one will have to learn some of the peculiar routines.
Carl Hagelin seems to be going through that stage right now. Before skating in his fifth game with his fifth NHL team, NBC cameras caught Hagelin doing a dance with Tom Wilson before hitting the ice for warm-ups to Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" song.
Way to assimilate to your new team, Carl. Boy, would be love to see Hagelin and Wilson do karaoke to that song together.
And wouldn't you know it, Hagelin tallied in the game against his old club, the New York Rangers.
One of the fastest players in the league, Hagelin's speed should pay dividends on what is one of the biggest teams in the NHL.
Hagelin suited up for 266 regular season games for the Rangers over four seasons.
