Justin Toerner is a 22-year-old outfielder making his way up the ladder in the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Toerner started the season in Class A-Advanced and was recently promoted to Double-A.

On Wednesday night, the Temecula, California native showed the entire baseball world that he’s absolutely fearless when it comes to running down fly balls and making important outs for his team as he ended the game in highlight reel fashion.

The Tulsa Drillers had already scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to make it an interesting game, so this home run would have been huge for the hosts considering it would have made it a two-run game. However, Toerner was not going to let his team blow a seven-run lead in the final inning and put his body on the line to put an end to the comeback and secure the victory for the Springfield Cardinals.

Toerner hasn’t exactly picked up where he left off at the plate, but if he continues to make defensive plays like this one he’s going to continue to climb the ladder to the big leagues.
