Habs fans were hit with the most unexpected curve ball on Saturday.

According to Pierre LeBrun, Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price has waived his no movement clause ahead of the expansion draft.

There’s a pretty good reason behind it though. This decision would allow the Habs to protect their back-up goalie Jake Allen. They’re really just betting that the Kraken won't want to pick up their star goalie and his massive contract! His AAV is $10.5M for another FIVE SEASONS!

Regardless of the reason, it seems a little risky! Habs fans are praying to the hockey gods that the Kraken don’t pick up their beloved goaltender.
