Last Thursday, it was Jersey Day in Canada as Canadians put on hockey jerseys as a way to honour the memory of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash. The campaign originated as an organizated tribute by a community of hockey moms in British Columbia, and ended up with national reach.
On Monday, the House of Commons of Canada gathered for a regular committee meeting, their first since the Humboldt crash, and joined in on the Jersey Day tribute. They heard a moment of silence for Humboldt, and as you can see, jerseys have overtaken the chamber:

It should come as no surprise that a tribute to a Canadian tragedy that has resonated so deeply within the country would find its way to elected representatives of the people, but there is something touching in seeing such a formal affair adorned by the colours of so many different teams from around the country in honour of the Humboldt victims.
A number of MPs also made statements on the tragedy, including the representatives of two Saskatchewan ridings: Andrew Scheer — appearing in a Broncos jersey — as well as Ralph Goodale:
