Canadian Russell Martin is back with the team he started his MLB career with, the Los Angeles Dodgers. Martin spent the first five seasons of his career with the Dodgers and now he's back catching and, wait for it, pitching for LA.
Saturday night with Los Angeles up 18-5 against the Diamondbacks, manager Dave Roberts sent Martin out to close out the 9th and he did so in flawless fashion.
Martin retired the side in order to close out the blowout win for the Dodgers and he almost forgot to shake his catcher's hand after securing the victory.
After the game, Martin talked about the moment and how cool it was for him to experience.
As per MLB.com's Matt Kelly, Martin made history with his appearance, too, as he became the first full-time position player to work a 1-2-3 ninth in a team win since 1925.
