For the second consecutive Winter Olympics there will be no NHL players competing for their country and some of them aren’t too happy about the league’s decision to pull out of the games.

On Sunday, Brad Marchand was asked about the NHL’s decision to pull out of the 2022 Beijing Olympics due to the concerns from rising COVID-19 cases, and the Bruins star mentioned that it should be up to the players who would make the team to decide, not the NHL.

Marchand brought up the fact that it’s all a business and the NHL wouldn’t be making any money off of the players while they were playing overseas, but also brought up how it was agreed upon in the CBA to allow players to go to the Olympics this time around, which is probably what set him off to call out the league in this case.

Do you think players should have the option to choose if they want to go (if they made the team)?
