The Vancouver Canucks named Bo Horvat the 14th captain in franchise history on Wednesday night and what a night it was for the Canucks as they crushed the visiting Los Angeles Kings, 8-2.

After taking some time to let it all soak in, the 24-year-old put his thoughts and emotions into a special message for the Canucks faithful and he shared it with them on Thursday evening.

Horvat has come a very long way from the 19-year-old kid he was when he made his Canucks debut back in 2014 and he has learned from some of the greatest players in franchise history along the way.

It’s safe to say Vancouver hockey fans and the players are very happy with their team’s decision.

Horvat has played 380 games of his NHL career in a Canucks sweater and has totaled 98 goals and 223 points in that span.
