Many Leafs faithful breathed a collective sigh of relief last night when forward Mitch Marner finally put pen to paper on a six year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In the midst of all this, the Leafs have commenced training camp in Newfoundland, where Marner made his way to immediately after finalizing the deal.
Of course, this has provided reporters with ample opportunity to ask the team about the situation, and it was Mike Babcock that provided us with the warmest and fuzziest quote on the whole situation.
He's just looking forward to giving him a big hug, and honestly, we imagine a lot of Leafs fans feel the same.
