First it was Michael Hutchinson, next it was Jake Muzzin. Why are all the Toronto Maple Leafs having children be born right now?
Muzzin, who played in Game 5 with the Leafs and set up Auston Matthews for the crucial first goal of the game, had another significant event taking place within the same time frame - the birth of his first child. While the hockey game was easily the most important of the season, it is nothing compared to becoming a dad.
Pretty funny reaction to have as a new dad, but the best interaction definitely happened between Muzzin's wife Courtney and Leafs' coach Mike Babcock. Clearly concerned about his defenceman's availability, he went to the one that had the most say of all in the matter - Courtney herself. She couldn't have been more assuring.
Very to the point, just the way Babs likes it.
