Superhero Night and Star Wars Night are the two most popular theme nights in sports.
Considering there are so many different themes and characters to choose from between the two genres, it’s no surprise why so many teams like to take advantage of those two themes on a yearly basis.
This weekend, the ECHL’s Atlanta Gladiators will host their annual Superhero Night when they take on the Florida Everblades on Saturday night. As part of the special theme night, the Gladiators will hit the ice in some special edition Captain America-themed jerseys.
The ECHL teamed up with Marvel this past summer to bring Marvel Superhero Nights to ECHL rinks across North America and this is just one of the many games this season that will feature the theme.
The Everblades rocked their Marvel Superhero themed jerseys a couple of weeks ago when they hosted the Jacksonville Icemen, and they decided to go with the Incredible Hulk as their superhero of choice.
The Gladiators aren’t the only ECHL team to rock a Captain America-inspired jersey for their Marvel Superhero Night this season as both the Wheeling Nailers and the Kansas City Mavericks also rocked Captain America-themed jerseys a couple of weeks ago.
