Justin Thomas hasn’t forgotten a comment made to him at this year’s Masters by Tiger Woods…’ son.
The world’s fifth ranked golfer made an appearance on the No Laying Up podcast and revealed a story in which Tiger’s son Charlie roasted him for his putting skills. According to Thomas, the 26-year-old was in the clubhouse after his final round after bogeying the 14th, 15th and 18th holes, and when he saw Tiger’s family watching him play his last holes, he approached them prior to Woods earning his fifth green jacket and got roasted. Here’s how his interaction went down with the 10-year-old:
The following is from the No Laying Up podcast:
“I just kind of saw (Charlie) and was like, ‘What’s up dude?’ And he just looks at me and goes ‘Oh hey look, it’s the guy who can’t putt.’ Thanks man, I appreciate that. I got a good kick out of that.”
The kid’s dad is fighting to win the Masters and he drops this gold? Just give him the green coat for cryin’ out loud.
Woods shared an iconic moment with Charlie after finishing at -13. At 43 years, 3 months and 15 days, he became the second oldest player to ever win the Masters. He famously shared this moment with Charlie following the improbable victory.
Thomas finished the tournament tied for 12th at -8 and managed to lose a bit of his dignity in the process. Well played Charlie.
