It’s been an extremely emotional week for the Los Angeles Angels and throughout the baseball community after Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs passed away at the age of 27 earlier this week in Texas.
Monday’s game was immediately postponed after the news came down, but the Angels and the Texas Rangers returned to action on Tuesday night. Before the game, both teams and everyone in the stadium stood for a moment of silence while a beautiful video tribute played on the jumbotron, and after the game the players joined their manager at the podium and shared their favourite memories of the late Angels pitcher.
On Wednesday, the Angels announced that they would be honouring Tyler Skaggs by adding special No. 45 Skaggs patches to their uniforms for the remainder of the 2019 campaign.
Very classy gesture by the Angels organization.
