Sometimes, everyone just needs a little perspective. Luckily for football fans, Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth is here to provide some advice… even if it’s in the strangest of ways.
The 37-year-old participated in his first Super Bowl on Sunday night and unfortunately became just another victim of Tom Brady and the Patriots in the big contest. The Pats shutdown the Rams’ offence, limiting them to three points in a 13-3 victory to earn Brady and Belichick their sixth Super Bowl. Whitworth faced the media to discuss the loss following the game and dropped what will probably be remembered as the oddest line from Super Bowl weekend.
Guess he raises a good point?
Prior to this season Whitworth hadn’t won a playoff game, despite numerous appearances with the Cincinnati Bengals. He admitted after the match that his future is up in the air despite playing a huge role in the Rams’ offence. He’ll count $15.9 million towards the cap next season.
Whitworth wasn’t the only Ram to drop an odd line after the game. Teammate defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh shared some interesting thoughts of his own regarding the performance of Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman.
Um… What?!
The game turned out to be somewhat of a stinker but hey, at least a few of the players left us with some memorable quotes.
