On Friday, the Anaheim Ducks signed Andrew Cogliano to a three-year extension.
Hockey fans know Cogliano as the NHL's ironman as he played his 830th consecutive game Saturday night in Los Angeles and hasn't missed a game since entering the league in 2007.
The streak has been one hockey fans have been following for a long time now and it seemed like Cogliano had a legitimate chance of breaking Doug Jarvis' record streak of 964 games.
Monday night in Colorado, though, the streak will come to an end in one of the worst ways possible.
Cogliano was suspended for two games Sunday by the department of NHL Player Safety for interference on Adrian Kempe of the Kings.
The 30-year-old will sit out the Ducks' next two games against the Avalanche and Penguins, but he'll start another streak on Friday at home against the Kings.
